New Calibration Jig

Siborg Systems Inc and the Institute of Automation and Electrometry at the Academy of Sciences have banded together in creating new calibration jigs with 4 and 2 wire connections allowing for all models of Smart Tweezers and LCR-Reader to be calibrated.

This jig cannot create NIST certificates and needs to be certified itself, but is a helpful tool for periodically checking the accuracy of devices as well as troubleshooting if a device should fail or malfunction.

When connected to a Smart Tweezers or LCR-Reader device, one press of the button allows the calibration jig to systematically cycle through 14 known components. The results are then displayed on the ST or LCR-Reader display to be compared to the known values.

The 4-wire jig is compatible with models from ST-3 and up, including the LCR-Reader, while the 2-wire jig is best for older models.

LCR-Reader Doubles Sales

After being on the market for a little more than a year, the LCR-Reader has quickly become Siborg System Inc.’s best selling device, doubling that of Smart Tweezers.

“We are quite happy with the sales progress made by LCR-Reader. It started slow, but due to low price and high reliability it caught up with Smart Tweezers sales in the last few months. Despite lower accuracy and limited functionality the device covers main needs for testing Surface Mount Devices and PCBs. In addition, it performs much better for high value capacitors exceeding 1 mF which require using a manual test mode on the ST-5S, the latest model of Smart Tweezers.” says the Director at Siborg, Michael Obrecht.

LCR-Reader Gains New Distributor in Taiwan

Siborg Systems Inc. has gained a new distributor for LCR-Reader and Smart Tweezers LCR-meters; King Hor’s Enterprise Co. Ltd. in Taipei.

King Hor’s Enterprise Co. Ltd. are a supplier of precise electronic instruments and equipment for over 30 years. They provide full customer service and first stage product analysis. King Hor’s Enterprise is currently expanding into custom textile exporting.

This new deal will widen Smart Tweezers and LCR-Reader’s markets in Asia, and will lessen wait times for customers when ordering new devices or sending their devices in for maintenance.

LCR-Reader Update; Colibri

After a full year of availability, the LCR-Reader from Siborg Systems Inc. is getting an update. The newer model, the LCR-Reader Colibri.

The Colibri offers the same high basic accuracy of 1% and features as the LCR-Reader with fully automatic measurements. The main difference between the two models, is the ability to change the test frequency manually. Unlike the LCR-Reader which only the test mode is changed when the button is pressed; the Colibri cycles through the modes with different frequency selection. IE: Automatic, L, 1kHz (default), 100 Hz, 10kHz, C, 1kHz, 100 Hz, 10kHz, etc. The device is also able to be reset by holding the button down for a few seconds. The Colibri also comes with precision tips; slightly sharper gold-plated tips that allow for a more focused grasp on components.

Siborg Systems Inc. has penned a new distributor deal with AOne Electrotest Services in Singapore. This new deal will benefit customers in Singapore and surrounding Asian areas with shorter wait times for their devices.

AOne was established in 2007, and ar a premium distributor of high-quality measuring electronics and electrical test equipment, offering brands such as Additel, Kaise, Kewtech, Tenmars, Flir-Systems, Chauvin Arnoux, ect. Instrumentation is their core business and are dedicated to meet the customers’ every need. AOne aims to cater for the growing needs of all electronics and electrical test and measuring equipment in Singapore. From July 2009.
