The LCR-Reader with Bluetooth is a time saving tool with the ability to record measurements in real-time over a Bluetooth connection. This feature is available for LCR-Reader MPA, R2 and R3 models. The new version of the LCR-Reader Data Logger software for Windows allows to import component data from BOM CSV (comma separated value) file and link it to the assembled PCB image. When a part is selected by a mouse click in the BOM list, its location on the PCB is readily displayed thus simplifying the component identification. Alternatively, the tested component can be selected by clicking on the component on the PCB image.
The LCR-Reader BT connects to a PC via the included BT dongle and displays the measurement results using LCR-Reader Data Logger software. Using this software, users are able to create custom test profiles by setting specific test parameters such as frequency, signal level, equivalent circuit, secondary parameter, etc. Upon testing the software automatically grants pass or fail status if the component meets or does not meet the test criteria. The test results can be exported to a CSV file for further processing using Excel or other spreadsheet software.
This picture shows the main measurement display of LCR-Reader Data Logger consisting of three frames: current measurement frame, PCB image frame with the selected component marked by a red cross and the BOM component list. A component can be selected by clicking on either a list entry or the component location on the image.
The left top frame presents the current measurement results with all used test parameters, control buttons and three tabs that toggle between Measurement, Settings and Reference windows.
Control buttons RLCD, RD and V are for different test modes: automatic LCR/Diode, RDC/LED and Voltage test modes respectively. The middle section of the frame shows the test result and all test parameters. The bottom row buttons initiate component test and display the test result status Pass/Fail.
LCR-Reader Data Logger allows users to efficiently test components while also keeping a detailed log of the components that have been tested. When a component is tested, the measurement results, including the main impedance value, secondary values, test frequency, test signal level, series and test mode are made available in the program. This is an exceptionally useful feature for time-sensitive tasks that require quality control, such as on a production line.
All measurement data can be exported to an Excel file for later analysis.
The following picture shows clickable PCB image where a component can be selected for testing by clicking on it. I-V curve button allows to display Analog Signature of the tested component.
The following picture shows the test result window. The results are presented as rows showing the measurement result, test conditions and the Pass/Fail status of components.
The following picture shows the Settings window of the LCR-Reader Data Logger. It allows to select a direct BT connection to the computer or the Com port connection using the BT dongle, connect and disconnect the device and displays the connection log
The following picture shows the Reference window of the LCR-Reader Data Logger. Here one can load the database with reference component specifications, modify reference components values, component test settings, load PCB image, add and delete reference components and save the modified database.
