How to Repair Your LCR-Reader

Need to repair your device? Follow these easy steps

Open the device by removing the 4 screws on the back using a size 0 Philips screw driver

Opening the Device

When the top is open, the screen can be disconnected and removed. Remove the centre screw to remove the PCB and access the battery. Gently open the Zif connector to disconnect the arms.

Removing the Top and Screws

Use a T6 Torx screwdriver to remove the central screw.

Gently pull the connector up and away from the PCB to remove battery.

Hold the battery in place using double sided tape

Note: When the battery is low, the device must be recharged. Completely discharged batteries may not revive.

Make sure the screen fits inside the rectangle on the top part of the housing to eliminate breaking the screen.

When replacing the tips, wipe away any debris; clean with isopropyl

Gently replace the flex cable by removing the sleeves and tips. Release the zif connector and remove old flex from arms. Clean well with isopropyl before attaching new flex cable.

Line up the holes on the new flex cable with those on the arms

Gently open the Zif connector to remove the screen. When the new screen has been attached, gently fold it over and replace top housing. Be careful to place the screen in the housing.
